Masha Obukhova is an artist from Moscow, working with textiles, embroidery and applique, combining them with video and soundart. Masha addresses themes of personal experiences through the facts of biography, in which trauma is present. Establishes the importance of traces and scars in the formation of identity.

Broadcasting her method of knowing, Masha documents elements of reality and connects them to the fictional, weaving together interpretations, speculation and facts.

She has participated in more than two dozen group exhibitions, as well as a solo exhibition «Lords of the Flies» (2019, MMSI). Participant of the festival «Code of the Epoch» (All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art, Moscow, 2013), video art festival «Now&Potom'13» (Moscow Museum of Modern Art, 2013), Triennale of Russian Contemporary Art (Museum of Modern Art «Garage», Moscow, 2020). Participated in the programme of Workshops and Art Residencies of the «Garage» Museum (Moscow, 2019-2020).

Graduate of the Moscow Institute of Art and Industry (2009), I. Bakstein Institute for Contemporary Art Problems (2012), and the «Free Workshops» School at the MMоMA(2013).
