"Above" is an installation consisting of a series of canvases of the Vyksa sky and work depicting characters and descriptions of everyday stories that Mikhail observed in Vyksa. The exhibition also contains an audio part consisting of different sounds and noises. The purpose of this sound art is to convey the emotional component of the artist's stay in residence.
The created project is a reflection on the artist's experience during his residency and the result of his observations, which he presented as a total installation.
You can visit the exhibition these days:
Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m,
Friday from 4 to 8 p.m,
Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Mikhail Dobrovolsky is an artist from Voronezh. His artistic research is based on how people live and behave in ordinary urban situations, including disadvantaged neighborhoods and an unfriendly, sometimes aggressive environment. The artist records his observations through photographs, video and sound. The collected material is reassembled, characters and conflict are developed, and then transferred to canvas. Dobrovolsky's empathy and absurdist irony balances the anxiety and tension of the social drama he observes.
