Workshop by Alexandra Nestyorkina

When?
April 29, 18:00

With the help of polymer clay, the participants will create their own form of votive objects - small and tactile objects that will preserve the author's energy for a long time. The objects will be covered using materials for restoration, gilding and aging. During the master class, the artist will share her experience in creating votive objects.

The tradition of creating votive things that were donated to a deity has been known since the time of the caveman. The custom of offering votive objects was an alternative form of sacrifice.

A special place is occupied by healing votives - gifts with the image of a diseased organ, which were brought by the sick with a request for healing or in gratitude for it.

Alexandra Nesterkina is a Moscow artist, graduated from the Institute of Contemporary Art and the British Higher School of Art and Design (Moscow). In her works, Alexandra Nesterkina turns to natural materials - wood, stones, parts of animal origin, found objects, complementing them with tactile forms made of clay or wax.

The entrance to the master class is free.
