Artist Talk: Alexandra Nesterkina

At the first meeting with the Vyksa people Alexandra is going to tell about herself, her work and the previous projects, and also reveal some details of the idea that she wants to realize during her residence.

Alexandra suggests that the Fatyanovo culture of the Bronze Age could have been located on the territory of modern Vyksa. She wants to create things in the traditions of an unknown or long-forgotten civilization, using natural and household materials found on the spot.

What will come of it? Perhaps a detective legend about an archaeologist who maps fossils and unravels the origin of mysterious finds or a museum archive of things from a once-existing culture, newly found by an artist in the fields of Vyksa?
