According to the project's concept, a new public artwork, focusing on the locals' innermost desires, will emerge in Vyksa in the spring of 2021, the plot of which will be the cherished wishes of the townspeople.
In the course of his residency, the artist met and liaised with the locals, who spoke to him about their dreams and life goals.
Yakov hosted an introductory talk, held two workshops and, as part of the Mentoring: Expanding Horizons project, created several special postboxes for a public poll, alongside Dmitry Smirnov.
All Vyksa residents willing to take part in the project are invited to leave notes outlining their desires and dreams in dedicated boxes that will be set up in the following locations:

Yakov Khorev
1991
Yakov Khorev is an artist from Nizhny Novgorod, a member of the Muddlehood street art collective (Andrey Olenev, Anton Morokov, Fedor Makhlayuk, Yakov Khorev).
Khorev graduated from the Centre for Gifted Children boarding school (2008) and the Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University (2013), where he studied and shared a dormitory with street artist Anton Morokov.
The main body of his works is based on the transformation of visual imagery by superimposing formal geometric structures. Vivid images that cause an unambiguous reaction: textures of urban architecture, advertising clippings, photographs from glossy magazines – get covered in patterns of monochromatic figures. Works often feature text showcasing the artist's puns or deliberate mistakes that emphasise the fluctuation and shifting nature of familiar words and objects.
